Like i have mentioned before, i want to visit Costa Rica, and do a lot of camping. There will be a lot of sight-seeing and the such. I should be there for about 6 weeks altogether. How much money do you think i should bring [I'm from Canada btw]? Any thoughts?

You should have no trouble with a ATM Card. You will tend to have trouble with Candian Dollars, US$100's (unless you are paying for something in that price range, and major trouble with travelers checks.

Even the 10, 000 colon note (about $20) is hard to change at times.

I am an American and when I last went to Costa Rica I spent on average 200.00 per day, but that included hotel cost + many extras including great food, gambling, and other entertainment. I would say you could make it on much less than that. I would say if you wanted to go for 4-6 weeks, I would take 2000.00 USD + hotel expenses.

Okay i'll make sure to use my ATM then. I was actually thinking about travellers checks, but now I'll just nix that one. Thanks for the suggestions guys! This forum is quite helpful!

It totally just depends on where you stay and how much shopping you will be doing, how many times you will eat at restaurants. If you are wanting to bring home some really good authentic souvenirs set aside some extra cash for that. Really, you can go for really cheap.

Keep this min mind... . Some people like to call Costa Rica various things like Puerto Rico or Costa Rico. Costa Rica translates to "Rich Coast"... check out Costa Rica. Costa Rica is also two words, not one, ie: Costarica or CostaRico. San Jose is the capitol city of Costa Rica. The San Jose International Aiport (SJO) is really located in Alajuela, Costa Rica (about 15 km from the Capital San Jose).
