My wife and I have already reserved a room at a few hotels, but have not been able to find that much information on them. So I'm wondering if anybody knows of these hotels and can give me a review?

arenal paraiso

the mango moon

timarai bamboo resort

Thanks!

I don't know those hotels... but I can tell you the most important thing at the Arenal Volanco... is the VOLCANO!

I hope you are lucky enough to see it erupt.

The timarai bamboo resort is perfect for something like a honeymoon. It is going to be more expensive than most, but it is gorgeous. You will pay anywhere between 200.00 and 500.00 depending on how many bedrooms you want and if you want a suite. The couple we went with stayed there for a few nights and it was absolutely amazing. The pool was gorgeous, they had a fully stocked kitchen. You could easily get a 400.00 per night place for 10-12 people and stay right on the water.

I think your best option in Costa Rica is a bed and breakfast.. one of the best parts of staying at a B&B is meeting the other guests! I also think you'll be more in the $35-$75/night range.

Oooh timarai bamboo resort sounds amazing. Thanks so much for the information Roxy!

My wife and I also cosidered Bed and Breakfast, because then maybe we could meet and migle with other guests during food time and such. We have a few days left for some other places. Do you have any B&B suggestions?

Depending on how long you are there, you may check into getting a beach house. We checked into getting a bed and breakfast. The two I found information on were cheap and you couldn't pay me enough money to stay in them. Beach houses are gorgeous and you can get some really good rates that are very realistic. Some require a minimum amount of people, but a lot do not.

Keep this min mind... . Some people like to call Costa Rica various things like Puerto Rico or Costa Rico. Costa Rica translates to "Rich Coast"... check out Costa Rica. Costa Rica is also two words, not one, ie: Costarica or CostaRico. San Jose is the capitol city of Costa Rica. The San Jose International Aiport (SJO) is really located in Alajuela, Costa Rica (about 15 km from the Capital San Jose).
