What is the population of Parrita? Does it have markets and other stores? Is there a subway?Any information would be appreciated.

As in an underground chain, or a place with overpriced under nourishing sandwishes? I'm not sure you'll find either. Could be wrong. It's not a kind of place that you would WANT to find either as well. You *REALLY* need to spend at least 2 weeks in the area if you have any hint of purchasing real estate nearby. Visit FIRST. Get your checkbook out SECOND.

Parrita is a small town near the mouth of the Parrita River. The land is very flat in the immediate area, but mountains are less than 10 miles away. The area is part of a very large outwash plain or delta. There are maybe 2000 to 3000 people in the town(s), but this is just my rough guess. The people are nice, very laid back, not quite so accustomed to tourists. There is a great deal of agricultural land in the area, much of the land is in African Oil Palm plantations and growing areas of Teak plantations. There are 2 medium sized grocery stores, 2 hardware/building supply stores, many small clothing stores, about 8 small restaurants, about half serve alcohol. There is a beautiful beach nearby called Playa Palo Seco. It is a long narrow barrier island similar to Carolina Coastal Outer Banks without the dunes. The island has 2 nice hotels and a number of beachfront rental homes and cabinas including one my wife and I own. www.tranquilcabinas.comOther nearby beaches include Bandera, Estereos, Hermosa. All have there pluses and minuses. I hope this helps. Feel free to contact me off board. Robert

You have an odd taste there fellow forumer. Why so interested in an unknown region in the Ticos Island? I believe there are more better off and popular regions in Costa Rica rather than the one you are asking. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
