I strongly suggest that you adopt the legal way. Contact a local adoption association and they will be able to help you prepare and figure out what you need to do in order to adopt oversea if that's what you would prefer. I understand it is cheaper to adopt oversea than it is to adopt from your own country. But yeah, contact the adoption association near you. Good luck!

The U.S. does not have the legal rights to adopt children in Costa Rica last I checked. We have to pass the Hague Adoption Convention before American citizens are allowed to adopt in Costa Rica. If you are a US and Costa Rican citizen you may adopt, otherwise Americans must wait for this law to pass in America. Do it the legal way please. You will wish you did in the end.
