I've recently started searching for residential land in Costa Rica. Preferably near Jaco or Puntarenas. Can anyone suggest the best way to do this research on-line? I've only found two websites that list raw land, buysafecostarica.com and bluewhiteproperties.com. I would prefer to have several other sources or some type of personal recommendation. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Sara E.

Get on an airplane! The price of the tickets will be nothing compared to your savings. The higher priced, more promoted properties will make it online. The best deals will be because someone knows someone is selling the property, or a dirty old sign by the side of the road.
You'll always want to find a trusted Costa Rican to use for all contact with the seller. It is important that the seller has no idea an American is looking to buy their property.
All of that aside, you *really* want to see the property, what's around it, whether there is actually electric and phone service to the property (if that is important to you, as getting those services could take a year or years).

If you're planning to live n Costa Rica, its better to choose properties that are near the beach. Or if you want you can opt to live it

As far as moving to Costa Rica. Some of the above comments a completly correct. You must be down here to fully get the feel for the land. There are so many people out there selling there homes and properties at the moment and unless you know exactly what you are doing you can get burnt..Bad..! I moved to Jaco, Costa Rica about 8 months ago, what great place.I spent so much time drivig around looking at properties and homes and at the end of each day I was so miss understood and you could never get ahold of the owners to get any information.......I was so frustrated!!! ^months later I was refered to a great agent @ century 21 Jaco. (Adam) He spent some time with me and was able to explain what was going on with the properties that I was interested in. They also helped me get together with a great lawyer...as you NEED a good lawyer for everything here. I bought a great house for a great deal.
1.Get a realestate agent That knows the market you are looking.(Century21 in Jaco, Adam)
2.Get a good Lawyer.(Herardo)can't find his card at the moment, if you want his info. I can get it.
