Is Costa Rica rich in history for conflict or has it always been pretty civil in the country?

What is the country's biggest issue?

Costa Rica prides itself on not having an army... but they seem to be bent on ripping off tourists in contrast.

I think the biggest "issue" is too many immigrants from Nicaragua and too many Tourists from further up north.

The Nicas bring a low class life style.. the tourists bring too much money. Both mess up the Costa Rican culture!

Well, all that I know off is that Costa Rica is now at war. War against the international passengers because of their plans to levy an additional 15% tax to international passengers which is really unfair. In their quest to improve their tourism they are making up stupid and preposterous tourism plans.

Keep this min mind... . Some people like to call Costa Rica various things like Puerto Rico or Costa Rico. Costa Rica translates to "Rich Coast"... check out Costa Rica. Costa Rica is also two words, not one, ie: Costarica or CostaRico. San Jose is the capitol city of Costa Rica. The San Jose International Aiport (SJO) is really located in Alajuela, Costa Rica (about 15 km from the Capital San Jose).
