Famous Landmarks in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is probably one of the most talked about and marketed country as a best tourist destination spot or retirement paradise on the globe. Well, thanks to that we already know what places to visit and when to catch the latest happenings and festivities there. What I want to know next are the famous landmarks that defines Costa Rica. Either these landmarks have Costa Rican history written all around them or some really famous landmarks worthy of having picture taken with for memorabilia.

Costa Rica is also two words, not one, ie: Costarica or CostaRico. San Jose is the capitol city of Costa Rica.
