How would one go about finding work with freelance website design in Costa Rica?

I currently live in Alajuela and speak both English and Spanish.

I would suggest that you get your webdesign business online and for businesses not in Costa Rica.

A Costa Rican business will have a very small budget compared to companies in the USA or Europe. Additionally, it seems far too many Costa Rican pages are in Flash so you will have the extra effort to develope a page will ultimately fail (ie: it won't bring any sufficient economic benfit to the business).

Keep this min mind... . Some people like to call Costa Rica various things like Puerto Rico or Costa Rico. Costa Rica translates to "Rich Coast"... check out Costa Rica. Costa Rica is also two words, not one, ie: Costarica or CostaRico. San Jose is the capitol city of Costa Rica. The San Jose International Aiport (SJO) is really located in Alajuela, Costa Rica (about 15 km from the Capital San Jose).
